Looking for care

Find the right care

A simple way to think about what kind of support might help — you don't need to know the care terms.

Start with everyday life

Think about the parts of the day that have become harder: getting up and washed, preparing meals, remembering medication, getting out, or staying safe overnight. Those are the things support can be built around.

Visiting care or someone living in

Many people manage well with visits at set times of the day. If help is needed throughout the day and night, live-in care or a 24-hour team may be more suitable. We can talk you through the differences.

Short-term or long-term

Some support is for a few weeks — after a hospital stay or to give a family carer a break. Other support is ongoing and changes over time. Both start with a conversation and an assessment.

Support to live independently

If someone wants to live more independently, for example in their own tenancy, supported living may be the right route. Housing is arranged with a landlord or housing provider; we provide the support.

You don't have to decide alone

Tell us what is happening and what matters to the person. We'll explain the options and, where appropriate, involve family members, social workers or health professionals.
